Oxfam Business Advisory
Oxfam Business Advisory Service brings all of Oxfam’s private sector expertise and experience to companies through tailored advice, guidance and support with implementation, helping businesses to lead as global citizens and build more resilient and sustainable supply chains.
We provide practical guidance, advice and support companies on the human rights issues that matter to their workers, customers and investors. This includes advisory services, research services (including Human Rights Impact Assessments), providing training & capacity building, strategy & policy development as well as creating practical tools & frameworks.
We bring both a depth and a breadth of experience and expertise across issues businesses face relating to human rights including living wage and living income, gender justice, worker voice, human right due diligence, human rights impact assessments (HRIA), labour standards, social impact monitoring and evaluation. Recognising the importance of diverse perspectives and lived experiences in understanding impact and improving conditions, our approach is: worker centric, participatory and gender responsive.
As a ‘critical friend’, we ask questions that get to the heart of complex issues, placing workers at the centre of the work we do to overcome poverty, respect human rights and empower women.
Our team of technical advisors specialising in human and labour rights and gender supports companies to take action – through practical advice, developing tools and helping with implementation – to address issues from gender inequality to achieving a living wage.
We draw on Oxfam’s experience in human rights, ethical trade, worker rights and women’s empowerment, helping companies to deploy positive business practices across their global supply chains.
