The Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) is an independent policy research think tank established in 1994 for the purpose of undertaking policy research and providing evidence to support economic management process, capacity development on policy and socio-economic matters, and knowledge management in Tanzania. The ESRF research agenda (from 2022-2026 Medium Term Strategic Plan) focuses on six core research themes namely (i) inclusive growth, employment, and industrialization (ii) governance and accountability (iii) gender, social services delivery, and social protection (iv) enhancing digital economy, knowledge management and innovation (v) globalization and regional integration, trade, investment and (vi) natural resources and environment management.
